WILX.com is reporting that Michigan lawmakers are looking to clarify some traffic laws as they pertain to traffic signals that are malfunctioning.

Most drivers believe that an intersection becomes a four-way stop when the traffic signal is out. But, actually, it is a four-way yield where drivers of the least busy roadway must yield to traffic in the busier roadway.

Current laws cause confusion for drivers. Senate Bill 521 looks to end that confusion and officially make these intersections officially four-way stops. The bill was passed in the house on Wednesday and now awaits Governor Rick Snyder's signature.
