It seems like the world keeps getting angrier everyday. People are flying off the handle about anything and everything. Anger is heavy in Michigan.

I use to be that guy. I had zero patience. The smallest thing could set me off. Through my recovery from alcoholism I have learned patience. I have learned to accept things for what they are and that most things are out or my control. I have control over one thing, that's ME. I wasted so much time in my life being angry about stupid stuff. It was a waste of time and I choose not to waste it now.

Best Life did a survey to determine the angriest states in America. Here's how they determined the rankings:

To create our Anger Index, we first used the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's most recent Fatality Analysis Reporting System, as well as supplementary analysis by Auto Insurance Center, to find what proportion of each state's fatal accidents involved road rage. We then calculated how many road rage fatalities happened per capita (meaning per 100,000 people). These are separate metrics: consider if a state only had one fatal accident, but it happened to be road-rage related. That would be 100 percent of fatal accidents being road-rage motivated, but 0 accidents per capita. Inversely, maybe only 1 percent of a state's traffic accidents are road-rage related, but it had 5,000 accidents per capita. Examining both figures shows us where these differences might lie. Next, we used Wired magazine's investigation into online trolls to find what percentage of each state's internet comments were angry and toxic over a 16-month period. Finally, we used the FBI's hate crime data to analyze hate crimes per capita, as these are often motivated by anger. (Note: Alabama had limited data in respect to this particular metric). We then gave each of these metrics a weighted value before running them through our exclusive algorithm to see how each state scored on our 100-point scale Anger Index. The results show that, on average, America isn't all that angry. The angriest state seemed to be a statistical outlier: it registered as twice as angry as the sixth angriest state, and three times as angry as the tenth angriest state. The top 10 were geographically diverse, with the West, Midwest, Northeast, and South all represented. Want to see how angry your state is? Read on to find out and discover the angriest state in America. And for the place that doesn't truly understand ethics, This Is the Most Corrupt State in America.
