Well, It looks like things might have changed since I was in school.

A Michigan substitute teacher is accused of supplying a student at Pontiac High School with Marijuana Gummies.

A substitute teacher from Pontiac High School is currently under investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office for allegedly supplying a student with marijuana-infused candy.

According to Sheriff Mike Bouchard, the student had obtained the candy from the substitute teacher and intended to distribute it to other students.

Sheriff Bouchard did not want to provide too many details about the investigation as it's still ongoing.

He did say a student had pot gummies and got them from a substitute teacher. And what's even worse, the student allegedly wanted to give them out.

According to WXYZ 7 in Detroit,  A spokesperson for the Pontiac School District did confirm a student brought something suspicious to school, a staff member took notice and called the sheriff's office right away.

What Could Happen To The Substitute Teacher?

While the use of marijuana is legal in Michigan for people over the age of 21, Supplying a minor with marijuana gummies in Michigan is illegal. Possession of marijuana is a misdemeanor that carries a penalty of up to 1 year in jail and/or a fine of up to $100.

It is unclear what the specific penalty is for supplying a minor with marijuana gummies, but it is likely to be more severe than the penalty for possession.
