Before the football game between Michigan State University and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor Saturday, MSU and Michigan culinary teams faced off on the lawn of The Union in Ann Arbor for the MSU vs. U of M Culinary Throwdown.

Round one of the competition featured Michigan State University students Ryan Barlow and Mike Stephenson against two University of Michigan students. Barlow and Stephenson secured the first round win for MSU.

Spartan sous-chefs Jonathon Hughes and Matt Wilson went up against two sous-chefs from Michigan and won round two.

Then, MSU Executive Chef Kurt Kwiatkowski's and U of M Executive Chef Frank Turchan presented their ramen bowls to the Judges. Kwiatkowski's dish earned another victory for MSU!
