Former Michigan State football running back Lorenzo White (pictured above, as a Houston Oiler) has been named as a member of the Class of 2019 for the College Football Hall of Fame.

According to the National Football Foundation, White is joined by 12 others in the Class of 2019.  They include former Texas QB Vince Young, former Notre Dame WR/KR Raghib "Rocket" Ismail, and former Arizona State QB Jake Plummer.

White played at MSU from 1984-87.  He is the Spartans' all-time leading rusher with 4,887 yards.  He amassed 43 rushing touchdowns during his time in East Lansing. And he was a key cog in MSU's Big Ten and Rose Bowl championship team.

White was named as the Big Ten Player of the Year in 1985 and 1987.  He was a first-team All-American in those seasons.  His sophomore year, 1985, he rushed for 2,066 yards and 17 TD's.  And he finished 4th in the voting for the Heisman Trophy in both 1985 and 1987.

After college, Lorenzo played for the Houston Oilers and the Cleveland Browns for a total of eight seasons.
