Michigan State University Corporate Executive Chef Kurt Kwiatkowski and his Culinary Crew won the inaugural "MSU vs U of M Culinary Throwdown" in Ann Arbor four years ago, which took place the same day as the storied rivals faced off on the football field.

The Spartans were victorious over University of Michigan Executive Chef Frank Turchan and his crew that day and the following year, but alas, the 'Pork Board' (a cutting board with a metal pig atop) became the possession of the Maize and Blue crew last year.

The Spartan Culinary team is aiming to reclaim the storied trophy this Saturday morning, before the noon start of the MSU v Univ of MI football game at Spartan Stadium.

The festivities will start around 9:00 Saturday morning, just west of Shaw Hall on the basketball court near Shaw and Farm Lane. If you stop by, you'll be able to sample FREE FOOD, including the pulled pork and mac & cheese combo that is a favorite of Joey Pants, as well as breakfast sandwiches.

Below are pics of the first year, when the Green and White Good Guys won the MSU v U of M Culinary Throwdown (note author's bias).
