The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Michigan State sophomore running back La'Darius Jefferson (pictured, #15) has decided the enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Jefferson joins former Spartans Connor Heyward and Brandon Bouyer-Randle in the transfer portal.

La'Darius had fallen behind freshman Elijah Collins on the running back depth chart at MSU.  He had appeared in all six Spartan games this season, but had only seen spot duty as he gained only 25 yards on 19 carries.  Jefferson played in 11 games in 2018 (his freshman season) and rushed for 255 yards and two touchdowns.

He was an All-State quarterback at Muskegon High School in 2017, leading the Big Reds to a Division 3 state title that season.  He was voted Mr. Football in the state of Michigan as well.
