WILX.com reports that recent general threats made against Michigan State University athletic facilities has forced the school to implement new security policies at its indoor sporting arenas, including Munn Ice Arena and Breslin Center.

Starting this Friday for Midnight Madness at Breslin, bags and purses will no longer be allowed inside MSU sports venues. This includes camera and binocular cases, as well as diaper bags and other large cases. Basically, the same policy for Spartan Stadium will now be implemented campus wide.

Additionally, the presence of police officers and security officials will be increased.

Earlier this month, police from the university and East Lansing received general threats of violence at MSU sporting events. But, no specific threats have been made.
