Turns out we will have racing here in Michigan this summer after all...except fans still won't be able to attend.

According to MLive, NASCAR announced the next leg of races on Wednesday, July 8th and detailed how things would proceed at Michigan International Speedway from August 7th through the 9th.

First up, Friday August 7th, the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race is on! Trucks will be taking to the track at 6 p.m. You can tune in and watch on Fox Sports 1.

Then, things get a bit different and extremely interesting Saturday, August 8th as both ARCA and Cup Series drivers will be racing.

Not at the same time, of course, but the ARCA Menards Series kicks off at 1 p.m. that day and can be watched on MAVTV. Meanwhile the Cup Series will be making up for missed time back in June with a race starting at 4 p.m., airing on NBC Sports.

I know my boyfriend Jordan's family has a lot of traditions surrounding race weekends and with ARCA making an appearance, it is an exciting time hoping Ken Shrader and his team make an appearance at "Baileyland" in Jackson!

Then, like any regular season, cup series races on Sunday, August 9th at 4:30 p.m.

However, unlike a regular season, did you catch Cup Series is racing TWICE!?

NASCAR has really raised the bar on how to adapt to change and make the most of it and they definitely proved that as they were the only sport able to continue on amidst the pandemic.

I'll admit, iRacing was a fun little treat but getting back to seeing real racing has been, of course, even better!

It will definitely be weird seeing our home track without any fans in the stands and thinking back to all of the amazing memories I have there.

For example, the first year I ever went, back in 2015, my boyfriend's family had won the chance to watch the race from a pit road suite and it was absolutely incredible. Being able to go up to the balcony up top and see the drivers pull in to pit road is something I will never forget.

Or how about those June races last year? Being able to be there for them to get some laps in only to postpone the race for the next day and then getting the day off from work to be able to go back and watch Joey Logano get that checkered flag was awesome!

We can now only hope this COVID-19 stuff is behind us by next season so we can get back to getting out for the best weekend(s) of the summer here in Michigan.

Of course that is my opinion but anywas...NASCAR is coming BACK to Michigan, so maybe this summer isn't so bad after all.
