Convicted murderer Charles Lewis Jr. was recaptured last week after walking away from a group home for a work shift. But, WLNS.com has published new details about his disappearance, and police reports tell an unbelievable story.

According to the article, Lewis was reported missing by his group home on September 5 after not returning from work on September 4. But, WLNS has documents that Lewis used Uber to go from Mount Clemens to Lansing to visit his girlfriend on September 3. Before that, on August 14, Shelby Township Police say Lewis was in a truck that was reported stolen out of Grand Ledge. While officers were questioning the truck's driver outside of the vehicle, Lewis drove away from the scene. The last time that Lewis was officially seen, according to documents, was at a court appearance in Ingham County on August 9.

Lewis is serving a suspended sentence as a juvenile for the 2010 Lansing gang murder of Shayla Johnson. Read the full report from WLNS here.
