WILX.com reports that Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has signed a bill into law that now requires drivers to give a required safe distance to bicyclists on the roadways.

According to the report, three feet is now required between your vehicle and a bicycle. Michigan is now the 40th state to enact such a traffic law.

in instances where it may not be possible to provide the required three feet, you can pass a bicycle on what is determined by you as a "safe distance".
