That term "polar vortex" is making its way back into the vocabulary of Michiganders this week. It's hard to believe that temperatures can get even colder than they were this past weekend. But, they will. It's also hard to believe that the polar vortex wasn't to blame. But, according to this article at mlive.com, that's exactly why it may get even colder at the end of this week. The article says that the polar vortex is expected to drift south to just northeast of Lake Huron, in perfect position to bring Michigan an arctic blast directly from the North Pole. Those along the Lake Michigan shoreline can expect another significant lake effect snow event, while the Lansing Area will likely see 1"-3" over the course of the weekend.
