Oh No! DeLuca’s in Lansing Only Open For One More Day
At first, we thought they were going to close.
And then they said that there was a buyer lined up and that they weren't going to close.
Now, sadly, it's official: DeLuca's Restaurant in Lansing is officially closing its doors for the last time.
According to the Lansing State Journal, there was a deal lined up with a buyer, however, the deal fell through. No word on why or how the deal fell through, only that it did. And because of that, the owners have officially decided to close the business.
Hurry, There's Not Much Time
Even though DeLuca's is officially closing its doors this weekend, you still have a little bit of time to enjoy a bite to eat before they close for good.
DeLuca's will be open this Saturday (as in, this Saturday, November 6th) from 11 am to 9 pm, or until supplies run out. They'll only have carry-out from 11 am to 4:30 pm, but the dine-in option will be available until they close.
Part of Lansing History
It's sad to see another part of Lansing history close its doors. DeLuca's has been around for 61 years, serving up deliciously cheesy pies with a recipe that originated with DeLuca's father, Pat, "who immigrated to the U.S. from southern Italy in the late 1930s."
While this ending may be sad, it is definitely more bittersweet; DeLuca was sure to give thanks to the loyal customers and employees from over the years, saying,
"We have been blessed with wonderful employees and wonderful customers. What more could you ask for. What a ride."
If you have time on Saturday, stop by, grab pizza pie, and say goodbye.
