Phone Scam Alert For Ingham County

An Advisory from the Ingham County Sheriff's Department:

The Ingham County Sheriff's Office warns citizens that a telephone scam is occurring where the caller identifies himself as a member of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office. The caller has a foreign accent and tells the caller they have a warrant for their arrest and they would need to pay to keep from getting arrested. When the citizen asks further questions, the caller hangs up.

Citizens are warned that this is not a member of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office and this is a phone scam. Citizens are warned to not give out any information or financial information.
