Familiar opponents and a game in the Upper Peninsula are a part of the 2019 preseason schedule for the Detroit Red Wings.

According to M-Live, the schedule will include the usual preseason opponents Chicago, Pittsburgh and Toronto.  This year the Red Wings will play a game against the New York Islanders.

This preseason will also see the Red Wings play in the Kraft Hockeyville game against the Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues on September 26th.

The game will be played in Calumet in the Upper Peninsula north of Houghton.

The preseason is a great chance to see some of the Red Wings prospects and younger players in action.

The first preseason game will be on at Little Caesars Arena on September 17th against Chicago.   Ticket information on the preseason home games will be released at a later date.

Check out the Red Wings website for the full 9 game preseason schedule here.
