Detroit Red Wings great Darren McCarty will be apart of the Firekeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on June 9th.

According to Michigan International Speedway,  McCarty has been named the honorary pace car driver for the race on June 9th.

He will lead the field to start the Monster Energy NASCAR series race at M.I.S.

McCarty is a 4 time Stanley Cup champion who played on the Red Wings Grind Line with Kirk Maltby and Kris Draper.

McCarty is one of many former Red Wings players featured in, "The Russian Five" documentary.  A great documentary that is still being shown around the country and will soon be available on I-Tunes. 

He won't be the only Detroit sports star in attendance as Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia is the Grand Marshall for the race.
