Longtime Twistars gymnastics club owner and U.S. Olympic gymnastics coach John Geddert is under crimintal investigation after more claims of abuse, the Lansing State Journal reports.

Geddert, 60, had already been investigated twice before and cleared of charges both times, according to the LSJ. But more complaints have been made since the sentencing of Larry Nassar, who had a long-standing working relationship with Geddert.

More from the LSJ story:

Jerri Nesbitt, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said Tuesday that "there are new people coming forward" with complaints, but she declined to elaborate on the nature of the complaints or comment further because police continue to investigate.

Numerous women who provided victim impact statements during Nassar's sentencing hearings in Ingham and Eaton counties said Geddert physically abused them during training.

Some also cast blame upon Geddert for sexual abuse they suffered at the hands of Nassar.

Last month, Geddert transferred ownership of his Twistars gyms -- both the DeWitt Township and Dimondale locations -- to his wife and announced his plans to retire. He coached 2012 U.S. gold medalist Olympian Jordyn Wieber, of DeWitt.
