Rocking The Lansing Civic Center
In keeping with the theme started by Debra Hart and Joey Pants, I have decided to bring up some fond, old memories. Alice Cooper (above) played many shows at the former Lansing Civic Center. How many shows did you see there?
The Lansing Civic Center was the venue for my very first concert. February 5, 1982, a 15 year old Duran, gazed upon the vocal stylings of one Ozzy Osbourne and his band the "Blizzard of Ozz!" Lead by former Quiet Riot guitarist Randy Rhoads and his buddy, bassist Rudy Sarzo (also of Quiet Riot). Drummer Tommy Aldridge and keyboardist Don Airey rounded out the mix.
That was the beginning of many shows to be seen at that venue until it's untimely demise to become a parking lot.
