Sears In Frandor Will Be Closing Its Doors
Whenever we lose a store locally it hurts. The small mom and pop joints that have been here forever (Roma Bakery) especially. But there are big box stores that hold special places in our hearts and memories too. They anchor local shopping centers. Provide jobs. This is one we are truly sad to see go away.
The parent company of Sears/Kmart – Transform Holdco – announced today (Thursday 11/07/19) that it was closing 96 Sears and Kmart stores by February 2020. On the list of closures: The location at Lansing’s Frandor Mall.
That was one of the last remaining Sears stores in the area. The Sears store at the Brighton Mall (a former Kmart) closed several years ago, and the Sears at Ann Arbor’s Briarwood Mall closed last year. The Sears at Novi’s Twelve Oaks Mall closed earlier this year. (Livingston Post)
You should still be able to get some great (Christmas) deals at the Frandor Mall location. The company said in the press release that liquidation sales would begin on Dec. 2.
