Several Lansing Streets Closed Because of Flooding
The City of Lansing and Lansing Township have declared States of Emergency because of widespread flooding as a result of the several inches of rain we received at the start of this week.
Several roads are closed around the city at this time. The following is not a complete list, but the bulk of the information we have at this time:
The entrance ramp to I496 and US127 from Kalamazoo
Intersection of Grand River and Okemos
Jolly road from Pennsylvania to Dunckel
Aurelius road from Miller to Cavanaugh
Pennsylvania Ave from Hazel to Baker Street
Lindbergh from Pennsylvania to Mount Hope
Kalamazoo from Clippert to Homer
Beech from Hazel to Elm
Mount Hope from Aurelius to Harrison
Intersection of Fayette and Beulah
Tecumseh River from Malcolm X to Lenawee
Homer from Michigan to Kalamazoo
Northbound Homer at Kalamazoo
Just a reminder that the National Weather Service advises that when encountering flooded roads, "Turn around, don`t drown." Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
