Should Wolf Hunting Be Allowed in Michigan?
Currently wolf hunting is not allowed in Michigan, but yesterday the State Senate voted to classify wolves as a game species and authorize the state to designate game. Next stop for the proposal is the State House.
The move to reclassify wolves here in Michigan, according to Senator Tom Casperson, is in case Congress takes wolves off the endangered species list.
My understanding is that the wolf population is making a healthy comeback in Canada and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The pictures here are from a trailcam in Canada. Some say that the wolves are devastating the deer herd in the UP.
