Sir Elton John Opens His Oscar Night Party to Everyone This Year
Every year in January, members of the community of entertainers and worldwide fans focus on the Academy Awards. The telecast is coming up on Sunday April 25th, hundreds of millions will watch to see who gets the honors and goes home with an Oscar. Nominations took place back on March 15th, 2020.
Sir Elton John has for quite a while now, thrown an Oscar-night party, and it’s not an easy ticket to get. But this year, for only $20 you can go. Elton John's AIDS foundation is offering you an invitation to enjoy an hour long virtual pre-show Oscar party with special guest Neil Patrick as your host. There will also be a live performance from Dua Lipa.
Grab your tickets at Ticketmaster for $19.99, with proceeds benefiting young people who are at risk or living with HIV around the globe. Elton’s foundation is one of the leading Independent AIDS organizations, which produces this show. It’s a star studded view of the Oscars, including a dinner and auction. And for the first time a pre-show will be available to ticket holders.
The special will be hosted four times in four different time zones and each will accommodate 100,000 viewers, meaning a total of 400,000 ticket buyers are allowed access. "Now more than ever, we need to ensure that one pandemic does not override another, and we cannot forget the 38 million people living with HIV globally who need our care, love and support so we hope everyone joins us for this special one of a kind Oscar Pre-Party," John said in a statement.
