(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

Tonight, we celebrate another birthday in Rock 'n' Roll as Tom Petty turns 64. The Gainesville, Florida native continues to pack major concert venues after nearly four decades of writing and producing countless, timeless classics. His latest effort with The Heartbreakers, Hypnotic Eye, was their first ever number one LP on the Billboard 200 chart in August after selling more than 131,000 copies in its debut week. Their iconic third studio LP, Damn The Torpedoes, saw the 35th anniversary of its release yesterday. Longevity has certainly been a strong point in Petty's illustrious career, and it's a good thing. Given the band's popularity and following still today, he shows no signs of letting up anytime soon.

It was a tough task for me whittle down just three classic Petty tunes to feature for tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot, but I did it. We'll kick it off with a rocker from Damn The Torpedoes, since it had a milestone marking day Sunday..."Even The Losers" precedes a live version of their first ever single "Breakdown", followed by one from his latest LP, "U Get Me High". Tune in for the greatness that is Tom Petty only on 94.9 WMMQ!
