(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

We look back on a day in Rock 'n' Roll history this evening. It was January 27, 1990 when the mayor of Gainesville, Florida donned the day Tom Petty Day. Petty, a Gainesville native, has had this honor bestowed upon him multiple times, on multiple days. And, why not? Petty, with or without The Heartbreakers, always sells out multiple shows when he returns to his native homeland. Petty and The Heartbreakers are coming off of a great 2014, which saw another highly successful tour, with Steve Winwod, in support of their first ever number one LP, Hypnotic Eye. The album is also nominated for a GRammy in the Best Rock Album category. But, frankly, since this is one of those days, I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to play three from the last standing American Rock 'n' Roll hero.

Tune in for the fun of tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot. We'll hear one from that latest LP, "Red River", followed by "A Woman In Love", and a classic live version of "Breakdown", only on 94.9 WMMQ!
