(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

Tonight, the theme for your Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a little loose. Kind of seasonal, kind of a day in rock history. This day in 1970, two songs were released, both songs had good chart and sales success, and both had something to do with summertime. The Who released their live cover of "Summertime Blues" recorded at the Leeds Festival. And, an unknown psych/folk act named Mungo Jerry released their biggest hit "In The Summertime" on the very same day. Of course, I dug and dug for a third summer song released on July 11. But, I came up empty. But, hey!! It's summertime! It may not feel like it next week for a couple of days. But, that's all the more reason, in my silly little mind, to toss in a random summer song to round out the trifecta. Van Halen has been called upon to fill the void in the lineup. They'll check in with "Summer Nights" off of 5150. It's tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot on 94.9 WMMQ!
