(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

Tonight, we commemorate another day in Rock 'n' Roll history. July 24, 1971, The Doors LP L.A. Woman was certified gold by RIAA, less than two weeks after Jim Morrison died. It's another example of mankind's tendency towards hype-mongering. Many celebrities in history have made more money after their death than they did when they were alive. Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Kurt Cobain, Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix...the list goes on and on. But, despite the hype-monger syndrome, L.A. Woman was a great LP that deserves every bit of recognition it gets.

Hence, tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot: the title track, "L.A. Woman", "Love Her Madly", and "Riders On The Storm"...only on 94.9 WMMQ!
