Smart Helmet...What the heck is a "Smart Helmet"? And by the way, where were these smart helmets when I was in school? I could have definitely used a Smart Helmet!

Well the thing is, a "Smart Helmet" ain't gonna improve your IQ. Or obviously my IQ that needs improvement because "ain't" ain't a word...or at least it wasn't years ago. I haven't checked the dictionary in awhile.

Anyway according to News 10, here is what a Smart Helmet is all about. Regular folks like me don't get to wear Smart Helmets. They are for law enforcement officials and the LEO's at Bishop Airport in Flint will be wearing them and the airport is the first place in our country to be doing that.

The helmets will measure peoples temperatures, thereby helping with the COVID-19 pandemic, run license plates and even scan faces which will help law enforcement officials find people who have outstanding warrants and more. Here's another thing, these helmets will be able to do even more in the future.

How about that? This all kind of feels like the Tom Cruise movie, "Minority Report" or maybe anyone of the other of his "Mission Impossible" films but the technology is pretty cool and will be steps further in helping to keep people safe.

And by the way, I think I'm going to find a way to borrow one of these Smart Helmets to take to my next family reunion. Not that I'm saying that anyone has COVID-19 in my family, but the outstanding warrant thing might have me concerned and you know it never hurts to run a license plate or two...
