Soap Box Derby Races Return to St. Johns After 43 Years
The only Soap Box Derby I have ever been to was a Boy Scouts deal where I had a poorly designed and half assed a little car. It seems like I am always disappointed when my half ass ism doesn't lead to monumental success. Anyway, this is a much different Soap Box Derby.
June 16th. Clinton Avenue in St. Johns. Girls and Boys age 7-16.
It has been 43 years since St. Johns has hosted the event and it used to be one of the biggest in the country. Plus, if you win here, you advance to the Ohio for a chance to advance to the Soap Box Championship of the World... or something like that.
I would love to announce this in my old time horse racing announcer. He is out of work due to NO horse racing left here in Michigan.
