One of the activities a lot of Michiganders enjoy is two tracking, I know a lot of folks go to Silver Lake just to cruise the dunes. It is beautiful over there, and a fun time is guaranteed for those who enjoy staying off the main roads. Now people in our area do not have to drive all the way to Silver Lake, as Southeast Michigan is about to get an awesome ORV Park of its own. They have been working on this attraction for a decade. Holly Oaks ORV Park can be found in parts of Groveland and Holly Townships. This Southeast Michigan ORV Park is now open with a whopping 113 acres of trails that will challenge even a pro Off Roader. And they have another 122 acres coming in the next three years. You will find this new park off I-75 at the Grange Hall Road exit.

The park is a shared operation between Oakland County and The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Parks and Recreation division. This site uses former and active sand and gravel mines, which makes it a great fit for all types of ORVs, full sized, side by side, all-terrain vehicles, ATVs, and motorcycles as well. Dan Stencil said. “We’re excited to see it finally come to fruition, and it will keep growing and changing in the years to come, providing new experiences with each visit.”

The site uses former and active sand and gravel mines, making it a destination for all types of ORVs, including full-size vehicles, side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles, and ATVs, as well as motorcycles. Some of the challenges include 4x4 trails, single track trails for motorcycles, steep hills, water crossings, rock crawls and more. There is also a 9,000-square-foot peak, called Mt. Magna.

MLive reports “The park will begin selling ORV licenses and trail permits starting in mid-October. Until then, visitors can purchase their ORV license and trail permit online by clicking here or at participating DNR license agents.”
