Strange Discipline by a High School Baseball Coach

Justin Hill, a North Carolina Varsity Baseball Coach, was suspended earlier this month after parents heard about his curious choice of discipline for players who missed practice.

The players say that Coach told them that by missing practice, they were "...virtually spitting in his face." So he made them literally spit in his face.

Not sure why, but this story reminds me of strange sport customs. Actually, just one. Nude swim class. We've had the topic come up before on the radio and a LOT of guys called to say that back in the 1960s and 1970s, they had to strip down to swim at the school pool. Wow. Duran says that at Lansing's Otto Junior High School back in the 1970s, nude swimming was mandatory. Duran did not go to Otto.
