Listen up, Mother's Day is this Sunday. Have you made plans for mom to enjoy her special day? Don't drop the ball, start making your plans now and most certainly reservations if you plan on taking mom out to eat.
When I used to work in the restaurant industry years ago, Mother's Day was our busiest days of the year when it came to brunch. As I recall the second busiest day for customers was Easter. I worked at a hotel that put on an amazing buffet every Sunday. It had every breakfast food you could imagine on it. There was a waffle station, carving station and a dessert table that went on for miles. Folks like buffets and mom should certainly be treated to something yummy for Mother's Day.
Sometimes mom wants to stay home, if that's the case, make sure that you do the cooking and cleaning. Don't let your mom or wife be responsible for cooking and cleaning up after the get together. For whatever reason, and it's sad, it's assumed that mom should do all of the cooking and cleaning. Let's try to change that dynamic, not only on Mother's Day but every day of the year. We work as a team in our household.
I wish I could celebrate Mother's Day with my moms. I had an amazing birth mom who passed unexpectedly when I was 5 and I had an amazing bonus mom who raised me from that age. What I would give to have 10 minutes with both of them. Embrace the time you have with mom and take her out for a nice brunch this Mother's Day. Yelp helped with the info for this article.
