WIth the announcement in the Lansing State Journal that the new Chick-Fil-A location has finally been established in Okemos, I wonder if the magic will be gone.

My first experience with the fast food chain came in 2014 when I was working the Bassmaster Classic Expo in Birmingham, Alabama. Noticing a location in the airport, I wandered over and ordered the breakfast sandwich that would change me forever! Since then I have made it a point to stop whenever possible. Last year, I visited Chick-Fil-A locations in Indiana, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina. The only reason I didn't stop at the location in the Minneapolis, MN airport was because I was stuck on the monorail and couldn't get out. I was crushed to say the very least!

So now that the announcements have been pouring in. First Novi in 2016, now two Lansing area locations. My concern is that I will not be able to get in, but more along the lines of will I eat it so much that the magic will be gone. When Halo Burger (a long time Flint area chain) came to Lansing, I was elated. I loved how they made the fresh pattied burger and kept it steaming underneath a sheet of wax paper (or something like it). Only to find out that a large dry cleaning chain bought them out and changed everything! Poof! Magic, gone!

All in all, I don't think I am worried too much about my diet or as Debra Hart would say, my "lifestyle". I will stay strong and make my stops more of a reward. Who am I kidding? Size me up to be buried in a piano case like Robert Earl Hughes!  I'm gonna "Eat Mor Chikin!"
