Three MSU Football Players, One Staffer Suspended Over Sexual Assault Allegations
Michigan State University issued a news release Thursday announcing the suspension of three MSU football players under investigation for an alleged sexual assault. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that there is a criminal investigation underway by Michigan State University Police, and a Title IX investigation is being conducted by the university's Office of Institutional Equity.
WLNS.com reports that a staff member of the MSU football program has been suspended due to the incident as well. The three unnamed players have been suspended from all team activities, and have been removed from on-campus housing.
No criminal charges have been filed yet. The Ingham County Prosecutor's Office told the Detroit Free Press that they have contacted MSU Police and expect their report on the criminal investigation sometime next week to determine if charges are warranted.
