Tom Brady ‘Un-Retires’, Set To Return For 23rd NFL Season in 2022
44-year-old Tom Brady has announced that he will be returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 NFL season.
The 7-time Super Bowl-winning QB retired back in January but has since changed his mind about his future in the NFL.
In an announcement on Social Media, the former Michigan QB stated that his 'place is still on the field':
These past two months I have realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now.
I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. Without them, none of this is possible.I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. We have unfinished buisness.
LFG
As far as the 'unfinished business' is concerned, it seems that the future Hall-Of-Famer is looking to add another Super Bowl ring to his collection. If Tampa Bay is able to win another Super Bowl with Brady at the helm, it would be his 8th championship.
The team was knocked out of the 2021 playoffs by the eventual champs, the LA Rams and Matthew Stafford.
So that begs the question, will Lions fans be rooting for Stafford or the former Michigan QB. Perhaps in a surprising move, they'll actually root for the Lions?
Reaction to Brady's news was mostly a mixture of excitement and lots of humor.
