Heads up if you're heading north to squeeze in more summer fun; WILX TV 10 reports that some of the hiking and off-road trails in Cheboygan, Crawford, Kalkaska and Otsego counties were damaged Monday afternoon by the tornadoes that touched down in the northern lower peninsula.  Sounds like crews are working to remove the debris blocking some of the trails.

And since we're talking about recreation in the great outdoors, the DNR does want to remind you of some safety tips as you head for your deer blinds this season - among the suggestions, bring your phone, flashlight and knife with you, just in case.
