Back in 1999, Mrs. Pants and I were big fans of Bill Knapp's. Every time we went in, we were the youngest people in the place. We loved the fries and the BBQ sauce. It was a once a week destination for us. The cake was killer and the Au gratin potatoes were legendary! Our hearts were broken when they closed the Okemos location. It wasn't long after that we couldn't find one open. Duran and a few callers said you can still get some of the desserts from Horrocks in Grand Ledge but without the elderly ambiance, it wouldn't be the same.

My close second option would be Hot 'N Now. What is even more crazy is both of these companies were founded in Michigan. What closed restaurant would you open for one meal?
