The Lansing City Pulse was the first to report that The National Policy Institute, a white nationalist organization, has inquired on renting facilities at Michigan State University in mid-September. WLNS.com reports that the NPI wants to hold an event to accommodate a speaker.

According to both reports, no decision by MSU administration has been made. However, the Lansing City Pulse story includes a quote from MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon, in which she clearly lays out the fact that university administration cannot pick and choose who gets access to public areas on campus based on thought and opinion, even if those thoughts and opinions are "categorically rejected" by MSU.

What's interesting is that NPI has been tied to Kyle Bristow, a Michigan State University graduate who spoke at a 2016 Alt-Right conference in 2016. See Lansing City Pulse's full story here to learn more about Bristow's bigoted viewpoints and connections to the university.
