The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered a halt to all gatherings of 250 people or more in the State of Michigan as the number of coronavirus cases continues to increase.

The governor signed the executive order Friday, putting the ban in effect as of 5:00 PM Friday evening. There are exceptions to the order, which include mass transit, industrial and manufacturing work, and the purchase of groceries and consumer goods.

This means that church and other worship services may be affected this weekend.

According to the official release from Governor Whitmer, the ban on large crowds will be in effect until Sunday, April 5.
