Lansing is somewhat land locked. We are fortunate to have some inland lakes in the area that people can enjoy year round. Have you ever tried sailing on a sailboat?

Some might think that you need a big body of water to be able to sail a boat. If you have a sailboat, wind and a body of water you're in business. While you may not be searching for treasure on a pirate ship, you can try something new. Try sailing on Lake Lansing in Haslett.

The MSU Sailing Center is located in Haslett at 5918 Shaw St #8433, Haslett, MI 48840. I discovered the sailing center last summer when I was driving around in Haslett. I grew up in St. Joe, it's a port town in southwest Michigan. Being on the lake was a part of my childhood and I learned how to sail when I was 10. We had a sailing school back home and went out on the lake everyday. Once I reached my teen years I was able to instruct sailing. Sailing is a lot of fun and I suggest that everyone try it at least once.
