Friday, I'll be taking the WMMQ van out to Grand Ledge in support of this event. I always wondered what a poker run is. The bikers tell me, "you can't call them that anymore. Even though everyone just donates the money back to the event." Now they are referred to as a charity run.

The Grand Ledge American legion Post 48 is hosting the 6th Annual SPC Bradley Rappuhn Memorial and Charity motorcycle run this Thursday through Saturday 26 through 28 July.

The SPC Rappuhn event held in memory of a Grand Ledge High school graduate. Who was killed in action August 8th 2010, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, while assigned to B Company, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment has raised over $50,000 in the past 5 years that have gone to various veteran organizations, mostly right here in mid-Michigan.

Come on out and help us raise money for great veteran organizations, while you enjoy live local music, silent auctions, raffles, great food and cold beverages. The event is Thursday the 26th  7pm to Midnight, Friday the 27th 4pm to 2am, and Saturday the 28th 9am to 2am. The charity run will be Saturday the 28th sign up from 9-11am. The charity run is not limited to motorcycles; you can register in a car as well.

There is also a Vintage Harley being raffled off.

This is the 6th Annual event and Thursday it all kicks off. I never met Bradley but I am ever grateful for his sacrifice. If you have a bike and are looking for a worthy ride, it's hard to find a more worthy cause than this. The funds raised are going to military oriented charities: American Fallen Soldier Project and Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs.

Get up with Deb and Joey weekdays 6-10am.
