Detroit Woman ‘Sorry’ After Burning Down Apartments to Kill Bedbugs

Fox 2 Detroit reports that a Detroit woman says she is sorry she set her 48 unit apartment building on fire this week while trying to kill the bedbugs that have been tormenting her for the past year.

Sherry Young says the exterminators sent over by management didn't work and the pests kept biting her.. So Tuesday, she doused her floors with alcohol and turned up the heat, which is apparently how she killed some of the bedbugs a few weeks ago. However, this time, she had her oven turned on, not realizing that the fumes are flammable.

Ms. Young and four other people were injured in the subsequent blaze that destroyed the apartment building.
