Seriously, why not?!?! Schools in Northern Michigan have been known to close on opening day of firearm deer season. Even GM took time off to hunt (at least that's what I have been told). So why not? Especially if it's not on a Saturday like this year!

Millions of dollars are poured into the States economy by hunters heading to deer camp in search of a trophy whitetail. Gas, food, lodging, all adding to the local economy. I hardly think a day off would hurt! Just make us work on sweetest day. That way we can have an excuse to avoid another senseless card and flowers.

Photo of the moon from last night as I left my tree stand. It's hard to hunt when the deer prefer to do things in the dark.
