CADSA Step Up For Down Syndrome is This Saturday

For years, I have been involved with the Capital Area Down Syndrome Association. This year, I will be emceeing their 15th Annual Step Up For Down Syndrome 5K run and 1 mile walk October 13th at the MSU Auditorium. The money raised helps families with Down Syndrome in our area. Click here for more information. Our team was trying to raise $500 and ended up over 2,100 so far. The money raised has directly affected our family.

My daughter "Nugget" was born in November 2016 with Down Syndrome. Since then, we have been heavily involved in CADSA activities. Nugget has gone to the under 5 playgroup almost every month of her life.

In this group, we have seen our daughter open up and how interacting with other down syndrome kids has such a positive impact on her. One class, we made caterpillars and her reaction took us by surprise. We think she had fun.
