Michael Hammond of Potterville (1979 Charlotte High School graduate) will be running in the historic Boston Marathon on Monday. Even though he's been a runner for nearly 40 years, this will only be Hammond's THIRD marathon. The first he ran was at 16; he didn't do another until friends urged him to try to qualify for the 'big one': Boston. As you can see, he did it!

If you want to follow Mike through the streets of Boston on Monday, April 18th, just text  RUNNER to 234567 using your US mobile phone. You will then receive a text response with instructions on how to submit a runner's bib number; his is 15510.

Here's the jersey he'll wear - way to represent!

Mike is also the Director for Race to Freedom in Potterville, June 18th, that will raise money to create a safe house for girls and women who are victims of human sex trafficking. The women will also be provided career training, counseling and more to help them reintegrate into society.

I decided that it's time for me to run another 5K, so this is the one I'm doing. I hope to see you there!
