The Meridian Township Police Department posted on their Facebook page this week that earlier this week, it was discovered that someone (possibly more than one person) did a significant amount of damage to Ted Black Woods on West Grand River in Okemos.

Meridian Township Parks and Rec posted about the vandalism on their Facebook page:

As many of you may already be aware, Ted Black Woods was vandalized over the holiday weekend. These pictures just show a small sample of the signs and benches that were deliberately destroyed. Many large trees were damaged and saplings chopped down as well. In all, there was over $5,000 worth of damage done. If anyone has any information that could help identify who did this, please contact the Meridian Township Police Department. Thank you all for being the eyes and ears of our parks and please share this post!

It's believed that the damage may have occurred the night before Thanksgiving.

If you have any information about who may have been involved in this incident, please call (517) 853-4800.
