Ever since I was a kid, I have looked forward to the Ox Roast. It happens every year in Webberville for the last 69 years. Friday of the Ox Roast was always my favorite. We would get let out of school to go eat the burgers for lunch.

My dad was a fireman in Webberville for 26 years and used to call everyone to volunteer to help sell burgers. He retired a few years ago but is always up there to help them out. I started volunteering when he was retiring.

We would always watch the parade and put our names in for FREE STUFF with the local merchant drawings. Man, when you got a free pizza, it was like a million bucks to a kid. Even a free ice cream cone is huge to a kid.

They will have rides this year. Live music, the arts and crafts barn where you can also get root beer floats from the Fire Flies for dirt cheap. There is also the social barn (beer barn) where the locals congregate to catch up each year, the Lions Club puts that on. I will be serving drinks from 4-8pm on Friday and Saturday. The live music starts at 7 Friday with Hollywood Vinyl and Saturday with Handsome Pete.

The Ox Burger's will be 4 bucks this year and are worth every penny. It is one of the most delicious sandwiches you will ever have. It's not Ox. It's beef with vegetables and onions. The Ox soup is also amazing.

Saturday there will be a kids parade at 9am and at 2pm is the grown up parade. Mrs. Pants organizes the parade and I announce it. There are all kinds of activities and something for everyone.

If you love a good garden tractor pull, you'll want to be in Webberville this weekend.

The FFA Chicken BBQ is Sunday and it's some of the best chicken you will ever have. 8 bucks gets you all the fixins from noon to 3pm on Sunday.

I will be broadcasting live from 2-4pm on Saturday at the fire hall. It's in Webberville off Elm Road before the tracks. 315 W Walnut St, Webberville, MI 48892
