Abandoned Lumberjack House, Muskegon County

Here's another abandoned home, found in the Michigan forest.

Looking at clues found within the house, it appears that this particular dwelling could be located in Muskegon County. Not only that, but it's believed to be the former home of a lumberjack.

Perusing the photos below, it's hard to tell the profession of the homeowner, as there are many “how-to” books that explain how to do a number of things. So the question of the owner's profession is still unanswered – until you come across a silver-plated lumberjack axe...and it's a beauty, displayed on the wall, hanging by deer antlers.

Boxes and boxes of stuff litter the whole house, with very narrow moving space. The power is still on, the television works, the clock radio is on...but no water. Why would someone desert this house, leave the power on, leave EVERYTHING behind including some furniture.....I don't get it. What was the big rush?

Looking at the rotting house from the outside, you can tell it was once a very nice place.

What else was left behind? Clothes that still fill the closets, a bucket full of dead mice, ammunition, mounted deer heads on the wall, an old 1940s Zenith radio...and that wonderful silver-plated axe...wow. This house can't be a hidden place that's still used as a deer camp – because there's no place to do anything! No room to sleep, cook, eat, sit...no room anywhere.
