Ann Wilson Announces Solo Tour Dates
Ann Wilson plans to spend at least part of the year on the road as a solo artist. The Heart frontwoman has announced 20 shows that span the U.S.
Called the Ann Wilson of Heart tour, the month-long run starts in her hometown of Seattle on March 8 and goes through April 7, when the dates wrap up with a performance in Providence, R.I. In between, she'll play Los Angeles, Denver, New Orleans and Philadelphia. You can see the full list of tour dates below.
"The stage is a magical place where I can be beautifully in and out of control, where I can build a fire and then jump into it," Wilson says in a press release announcing the tour. "The stage is where I have always lived; where I've expressed my deepest emotions and supreme joys. I suppose I am addicted to it. I've never been much good at talking, but I can sing, and when I sing I connect with people in a much deeper, higher way."
Wilson's solo band for the shows includes Heart guitarist Craig Bartock, bassist Andy Stoller (a member of the Ann Wilson Thing) and former Heart drummer Denny Fongheiser. Wilson last toured as a solo artist in 2015, when she released an EP and hit the road with the Ann Wilson Thing.
"People can expect the unexpected in 2017," Wilson says. "A beautiful, classy set with an elegant, artistic production. ... The music will be a mix of songs that have powered my life, iconic soul stirring covers, songs from my years of solo work and the unforgettable songs of Heart."

Wilson focused on her longtime band last year, releasing Beautiful Broken and appearing with Cheap Trick and Joan Jett on the Rock Hall for Three tour. And there'll be more from them sometime in the future. "Heart is always evolving, changing," Wilson says. "It is a living organism. Right now it's in a cocoon of metamorphosis, and we will see what emerges when the time is right."
