Bissell Pet Foundation is coming through for shelter animals once again. The Michigan based cleaning product manufacturer's non-profit efforts will allow animal shelters across the state, region, and entire country to offer online pet adoptions at a reduced and affordable cost.

In their effort to promote pet adoptions, another Empty The Shelters event is being planned by Bissell Pet Foundation. Typically, this is a one-day event. But, given the coronavirus outbreak, the event will take place over a nine-day period so shelters can adhere to social distancing standards by offering adoptions by appointment.

Ingham County Animal Control Shelter, Jackson County Animal Shelter, Livingston County Animal Control and Shelter, Capital Area Humane Society, and Cascades Humane Society are all listed among the 36 shelters in Michigan participating.

Adoption fees will be reduced to $25 between Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 17. Again, adoptions are by appointment only at the shelters. And, the regular adoption screening processes at each shelter will remain in effect. Contact each individual shelter for those details and appointment times.

The best option for easy contact information for the participating shelters and more Empty The Shelters information is to follow this link to the Bissell Pet Foundation website.
