Cellular service for multiple carriers was interrupted across Michigan Tuesday due to an infrastructure issue in Detroit.

By 8:30 p.m., outage maps showed widespread service losses in the Lansing, Jackson and Detroit areas. Customers of AT&T, Sprint and Verizon were affected.

Verizon officials said the cell tower causing the outage is in Detroit, and there was no timetable for when service would be restored, according to MLive.com.
